New Jersey Native Al Gray enlisted in the Marine Corps
during the Korean War. He served there as an artillery
and infantry officer with 7th Marines.
He would go onto command Marine Corps and joint
forces units during the Vietnam War.
He was appointed Commandant under Ronald Reagan,
Virginia native Walt Boomer was commissioned in
1961. He served in Vietnam and commanded a
company in 4th Marines. He would earn the Siver
Star while there. He would return to Vietnam as an
advisor later on.
He would command I Marine Expeditionary Force
during Desert Storm and be appointed Assistant
Commandant of the Marine Corps under George
H.W. Bush.
Mike Myatt enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1961 and
was commissioned when he graduted college in
Texas.
He served two tours in Vietnam and commanded a
company of 4th Marines. He would earn the Silver
Star and Bronze Star with V while there.
He would command the First Marine Division during
Desert Storm.
Carlton Fulford was a Naval Academy graduate
that retired as Deputy Commander United States
European Command.
He served in Vietnam and commanded a company
of 5th Marines at the Battle of Hue City. He would
earn the Siver Star.
Colonel Fulford commanded Task Force Ripper
during Desert Storm.
Norman Schwarzkopf was a West Point Graduate
from New Jersey. He spent some of his youth in Iran
with his father who was also a general.
He went to Vietnam as an advisor to their Airborne
forces and returned as a battlion commander in the
Americal Division. He earned three Silver Stars in
the war.
He Commanded United States Central Command
and retired in that position.
