The 110th Cavalry was formed when the National Lancers joined
the Boston Light Dragoons in 1836 and then were in the Broad
Street Riot.
It was used to form the 1st Massachusetts Cavalry in the Civil War.
During World War One it formed the 102nd Machine Gun
Battalion and the Headquarters Troop of Yankee Division.
In the Second World War it formed the 180th Artillery of Yankee
Division, 221st Artillery and the Band for the Americal Division.
It was reformed in 1959 and split into the 110th Armor and 26th
Cavalry and they were combined in 1988 to reform the 110th
Cavalry. This was disbanded in 1995.
